John’s memorial “Celebration of Life” was attended by approximately two hundred people from around the country. They came from California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington state. Digital messages came from around the globe. The site was the Palm Desert campus of John’s  beloved Palm Springs Art Museum, where John volunteered his time with the museum’s photography collection. The service was held on December 8, 2018 and was led by Rabbi Sally Olins, a dear friend of John’s. Following the Celebration, a family and close-friends dinner was hosted by Mark Hamilton and Juan Francisco Contreras-Gomez at their home in Palm Springs.
